Start with the visitor
List the people you want to reach and the action each should take. A company introduction, service enquiry and product catalogue can require different page structures.
Agree the content
Count the pages and repeated content types, such as services or articles. Decide who supplies copy, photographs and translations, and who approves them. Content work can materially change the scope.
Define editing and integrations
Decide whether nominated staff need a CMS, which fields they may edit and what the enquiry form must do. Payments, booking systems and customer accounts should be scoped explicitly.
Clarify launch and ownership
Agree responsibility for the domain, hosting, content approval, testing, access credentials and ongoing updates. Ask for an itemised quotation and acceptance checklist rather than assuming these are included.
This guide helps frame a requirements conversation. A written quotation defines the actual deliverables, responsibilities, pricing and terms.
